sippy cup success

life factoryI'll be honest.  I'm failing the sippy cup transition.  I have tried so many different kinds and types on Vivi, and she hasn't really taken to any of them.  She likes the straw versions, but doesn't get that you have to keep it down to get the water out, and she does ok when I take the valves out of the others, but, of course, then her shirt is soaking wet, and she gets more than just a mouthful.  However, Life Factory was kind enough to send samples of their beautiful products, and their sippy cups are amazing.  They are so pretty that I have them sitting out on one of the shelves in the kitchen and best of all, everything is glass, so you don't have to worry about any of the crazy stuff that is in some of the plastic items (it is so hard to find non-plastic baby stuff!).  I wish I had known about them when I was buying bottles - they sent me a bottle sample, but since Vivi has been using the same bottles for 11.5 months, she wasn't really willing to give it much of a try.  The sippy cups have the perfect top for her, though; it doesn't take too much work for her to get her water or milk out of the bottle, and yet it doesn't leak when turned upside down.  I have bought more of the tops so we will have plenty on hand as I'm working on this transition.  Their products are an investment, but you can use the same bottles as sippy cups by changing the tops, so it works out really well.  I've spent quite a bit trying out almost every other version, so it probably would have worked out the same had I started out with these.  They are a bit heavy because they are glass, but Vivi manages them well at this point, and they are really fun for her to hold with the bright silicone sleeve (as you can see in the above pictures of her having lunch at her table, and then taking a water break mid playtime).  If she were younger, I might try the 4 oz. bottle with the sippy cap.  You can check them out online here.

(Please note, I wasn't compensated in any way for this post other than the samples they sent me to review!)
